At Chatham Grammar, we discuss online safety topics on a weekly basis to ensure all our students are educated on how to stay safe online and who to turn to if they need support. Throughout Safer Internet Week students engaged in a range of activities including class discussion and a quiz.
Our Online Safety Lead, Mrs Sanger, and our Digital Leader Team worked hard to plan a range of activities and assemblies for the whole school, throughout the week of 5th February, to celebrate Safer Internet Day 2024 (Tuesday 6th February 2024). The focus for this year is to ‘Inspire Change’ and ‘Navigate Change Online’.
No Tech Day 2024
On Thursday 8th February 2024, over 30 students signed up to challenge themselves to 24 hours without technology. Students planned their days without mobile phones, iPads, TV’s etc.
The day is designed to give respite from technology, to allow students to see life without it, to recognise how reliant they are on it and the mental health benefits to taking breaks from technology.
Students collected sponsors to help motivate them, with all proceeds raised being donated to the charity MIND.
Congratulations to all the students who took part.
